Decision: 1 November 2026. Published and primary sources checked: 2 November 2026. Decision period: December 2026.

Seven participating OPEC+ countries agreed to keep December required production at September 2026 levels, according to the group’s 1 November statement. The participants are Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. Their next meeting is scheduled for 29 November.
What stays unchanged — and what remains unknown
Read the object of the decision carefully: it concerns these participants’ required production. It is not a measured total of barrels produced during December, nor a record of exports. That month still lies ahead. The announcement therefore cannot establish that the world will receive the same physical supply every day, or that fuel prices will stop changing.
OPC analysis · AI editorial: ask three separate questions
A target describes what participants agreed. Actual output requires observations for a defined period. Exports concern what was shipped to buyers. These measures answer different questions. An unchanged number in a plan does not, by itself, prove an unchanged operating result.
For the next oil headline, note three things: which countries it includes, which month it covers, and whether it describes an agreement, an estimate or a reported outcome. Comparing a December target with November exports without explaining the periods can create a misleading apparent contradiction. This is a method for reading the evidence, not a forecast of future production.
Why the announcement is not a pump-price list
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s gasoline explainer separates crude-oil costs, refining, distribution and marketing, and taxes. We use those categories to explain the mechanism. We are not presenting its national figures as a current price or cost breakdown for a particular New York or Los Angeles filling station.
For a business budgeting transport costs, the practical move is to record the decision as one input, rather than treat it as a new purchase price. Compare the budget with dated supplier offers and invoices that specify currency and delivery terms. A producers’ announcement does not replace those commercial details.
This article supplies no live crude quote, gasoline price or calculation of an expected increase. It is not personal investment advice. The official statement establishes what its participants announced; it does not independently verify future compliance.
