Low Impact film-permit pilot extended through April 30
FilmLA’s November 2 announcement extends its City of Los Angeles Low Impact permit pilot through April 30, 2027. Applications continue beyond the original October 31 cutoff, with no immediate change to eligibility or pricing. This is an extension of an existing permit option, not a blanket fee waiver.
The published fees are $350 per application and $156 notification per location; the $285 City Fire Department spot-check fee is waived. These figures are not an all-inclusive production quote. The permit covers up to three locations over three consecutive days, within the City of Los Angeles only, with no more than 30 cast and crew on set. Project budget alone does not determine eligibility.
Check the full eligibility rules → before choosing the tier: prohibited activities and locations still apply, including street or lane closures and drones. FilmLA lists a three-business-day application deadline, or four for city parks. Park use and personnel fees may still apply.
Original extension announcement → · Official application portal →. Questions: 213-977-8600. The separate proposed no-cost Micro Shoot permit is not presented by this announcement as available yet; do not confuse it with Low Impact pricing.

DASH bus cameras: warnings from November 2, citations planned for January
LADOT’s current ABLE notice dates the warning phase to November 2, 2026. It schedules citations under the programme from January 2, 2027, with a listed $293 fine. These are the agency’s published dates; OPC has not verified individual warning letters or camera operation.
The programme covers vehicles illegally parked or stopped in designated bus lanes and bus stops. Cameras on DASH buses assemble evidence; city traffic officers review it and decide whether to issue a citation. Detection does not itself establish a final ticket.
For drivers, keep stops and designated lanes clear. For riders, blocked stops can prevent safe wheelchair-ramp deployment. LADOT describes improved access and reliability as programme aims; this notice does not establish measured results or guarantee an accessible trip.

DCA opens a call for a Lankershim event producer
The city’s Department of Cultural Affairs lists a new call issued November 2, 2026 for an experienced producer familiar with Chinese, Korean and/or Vietnamese culture. The assignment is a family-friendly Lankershim Lunar New Year Block Party in North Hollywood, scheduled for January 9, 2027.
The $45,000 fee covers the whole production. DCA says there is no advance funding; payments follow deliverable milestones, and final payment may take up to four months. Treat this as a production budget, not guaranteed personal earnings.
Recipients of DCA’s 2026–2027 grants are ineligible; only one application per curator is allowed. The submission requires contact details, a 100-word proposal, the budget template and relevant past work. The listed deadline is November 20 at 11:59 p.m. Read the full selection, submission and change-of-schedule terms before applying; no award is guaranteed.

Save LADOT’s new bus-arrival text number
Text your stop code to 213-785-3858. Find the code on the bus-stop sign. LADOT says the reply gives arrival information for the next three LADOT buses serving that stop.

For service-alert subscriptions, LADOT’s instructions say to text ALERTS to the new number. A text-free alternative is LADOT’s bus-information website. Arrival information is an estimate, not a guaranteed departure.
